Chicken spring rolls are a delicious and versatile snack or appetizer that can be enjoyed at any time. They are typically made with a filling of minced chicken, vegetables, and spices, wrapped in a thin pastry dough and deep-fried until crispy and golden.
Here is a recipe you can try at home:
Ingredients:
1/2 pound ground chicken
1 small carrot, grated
1 small bell pepper, finely diced
1 small onion, finely diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 spring roll wrappers
Vegetable oil, for frying
Sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce, for dipping (optional)
1 small carrot, grated
1 small bell pepper, finely diced
1 small onion, finely diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 spring roll wrappers
Vegetable oil, for frying
Sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce, for dipping (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground chicken over medium heat until it is fully cooked and no longer pink.
- Add the grated carrot, diced bell pepper, diced onion, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the mixture cool completely.
- Lay out a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface. Place a spoonful of the chicken and vegetable filling in the center of the wrapper. Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll it up tightly. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- In a large saucepan, heat enough vegetable oil to cover the spring rolls over medium-high heat. Carefully add the spring rolls to the hot oil and fry them until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the spring rolls from the oil and drain them on a paper towel. Serve hot with sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce for dipping (if desired). Enjoy!
