1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 inch ginger, finely grated
1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
1 cup water
1 cup cooked chickpeas
Salt and pepper, to taste
Chopped cilantro, for garnish

Instructions:
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, ginger, and jalapeno pepper and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the cumin, garam masala, chili powder, and turmeric to the skillet and cook for 1 minute longer.
- Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until it is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
