Keema Pulao Recipe

Here is a recipe you can try at home:

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon ghee or oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 pound ground meat (beef, lamb, or chicken)
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (optional)
1 cup basmati rice, rinsed and drained
2 cups water
Salt, to taste
Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large saucepan, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring frequently, until it is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the ground meat to the saucepan and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is browned and fully cooked.
  3. Add the ginger, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and red pepper (if using) to the saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
  4. Add the basmati rice to the saucepan and stir to coat it with the spices.
  5. Pour in 2 cups of water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed, about 20-25 minutes.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and season with salt to taste. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot. Enjoy!
