Khajur Ki Kheer Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup chopped dates (khajur)
2 cups milk
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp ghee
1 tsp cardamom powder
A pinch of nutmeg powder (optional)
A pinch of saffron (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Soak the chopped dates in water for about 1 hour.
  2. In a pot, add the soaked dates, milk, water, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the dates are soft and tender.
  3. Add the ghee, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder (if using), and saffron (if using) to the pot. Stir well and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Let the kheer cool down for a bit and then blend it to get a smooth consistency.
  5. Serve the Khazur Makuti warm or chilled, garnished with chopped dates, if desired.

Notes:

  • You can adjust the amount of sugar to your liking.
  • You can also add more or less cardamom powder and nutmeg powder, depending on your preference.
  • For a richer kheer, use full-fat milk instead of low-fat milk.
  • You can also add a bit of cream for a creamier texture.

Khazur Makuti is a perfect dessert for those who are looking for a sweet treat that's also good for you. The dates in the recipe provide natural sweetness and are a good source of energy and nutrition. Enjoy this delicious and healthy dessert with your family and friends.
